With the decisive mountain stages ahead, the race remains wide open. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider is optimistic about the coming days.“So far, I'm feeling pretty good. My legs are responding well, and the team is doing an incredible job supporting me. Tirreno-Adriatico is always a tough race, but I really enjoy the challenge and I'm motivated for the next few days,” Jai explains. After delivering solid performances in the opening stages, his focus is now on the crucial moments of the race.The upcoming stages promise pure excitement. While the early days, marked by cold and rain, were decided in sprints, the upcoming mountain battles could shake up the general classification. Hindley knows what’s at stake: “I want to carry the momentum we've built over the first few days. The race is still completely open, and some really important stages are coming up. My main focus is to stay consistent, race smart, and be in the mix when it really counts. With the team we have here, I'm confident we can fight for a strong result.”Beyond his focus on Tirreno-Adriatico, Jai also reflects positively on his season so far: “I'm happy with how things are shaping up. I've had a solid start, and every race helps me keep building towards my big goals for the season. Mit den entscheidenden Bergetappen vor der Brust ist im Rennen noch alles offen. Der Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Fahrer blickt zuversichtlich auf die kommenden Tage.„Bisher fühle ich mich ziemlich gut. Despite the short, punchy nature of the final climb on today’s stage (which was 1.7km at 11 per cent), Lipowitz held his own, a performance that even he found slightly surprising.&nbsp;“I didn’t expect to do so well on a climb like this,” he admitted post-stage. “Normally, I’m not the best on these short, steep ramps, but I surprised myself today. I was able to stay with the best guys.”&nbsp;Crossing the line just behind the leading quartet, he reinforced his status as one of the key contenders in the race. His effort also saw him don the white jersey as the best young rider. It was an intense 28.4km effort from the Circuit Nevers Magny-Cours to Nevers, where teamwork and pacing were the deciding factors on a course that threw everything at the teams – some tight corners, rolling terrain, and a steep climb.&nbsp;From the start, the squad tackled the motor circuit with control, navigating the early corners smoothly and settling into a strong rhythm. The opening rollers provided an early test, but the team remained disciplined, making sure not to burn too many matches too soon, clocking the third-fastest time at the checkpoint, only 7 seconds down on Visma.&nbsp;In the end, our six-man squad maintained third place at the finish line in Nevers, a solid ride and tight-knit effort that keeps the team firmly in the mix for the GC battle as the peloton hits the mountains tomorrow on Stage 4.&nbsp;Dan Bigham:&nbsp;<blockquote>The team put in a really solid ride today, I'm really pleased with the result overall. They executed a clean time trial, with everyone sticking to the plan. Towards the end, Ryan and Mick gave it everything they had along the river, setting up the others for a strong finish into the town. It was almost like an Italian pursuit, with everyone peeling off one by one all the way to the line. Lipo and Aleks finished strongly, keeping us in the mix and on the podium. The 45-year-old Luxembourger currently heads the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe coaching team. In his new role, Dan Lorang will continue to coach individual riders from the German UCI WorldTeam.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; In recent months, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has benefited from the performance expertise that majority shareholder Red Bull brings to the partnership. Sports medicine, nutrition, mental performance - the team attracted experts with a Red Bull background in strategically important areas. Paris-Nice is shaping up to be one of the most challenging stage races on the 2025 calendar. Across eight days of racing, the challenging parcours and an elite start list will make for a demanding battle, often used by Grand Tour hopefuls to test their form and tune up for the season. The 83rd Race to the Sun features a route designed to challenge every type of rider. Starting in the Yvelines on the south-west edge of Paris, the race will traverse 1,206 kilometres, with three stages for the fast men, three summit finishes, and a pivotal team time trial.&nbsp; &nbsp; Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe heads into the race with a strong lineup, aiming for top results in both the GC and sprints, with Florian Lipowitz and Aleksandr Vlasov leading the charge for the overall and Danny van Poppel the team’s key card to play in the fast finishes. &nbsp;&nbsp;<figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:75%;"><img src="https://bora-hansgrohe-cms.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/Whats_App_Image_2025_03_05_at_15_29_23_2e5e76bed9.jpeg"></figure> The race opens with two relatively flat stages to suit the sprinters, provided crosswinds don’t shake things up, especially on the exposed Beauce plains of Stage 2. “These stages will help the team and riders get into the rhythm," explains Sports Director Patxi Vila.&nbsp; &nbsp; Following from that, the GC battle is set to heat up on Stage 3, featuring a rolling 28.4km team time trial to Nevers. A key feature of the stage is the Côte de la Pisserotte towards the finish, where riders will need to carefully manage their effort. Teams will likely look to the strategic use of riders on the approach to the finish, the climb itself and the downhill run-in to the line. “Strong teamwork will be key to positioning Aleksandr and Florian well for the GC battle,” continues Vila. “Although there is still significant climbing to come on the following days, this stage could have a central role to play in the GC battle.” &nbsp; Midweek, the race reaches its first summit finish on Stage 4 at La Loge des Gardes, a 7km climb averaging 6.5 per cent. "It’s quite a long climb, and the first proper climbing test for the general classification test," says Vila. “With over 3000m of elevation, it promises a selective stage finish.”&nbsp; &nbsp; He likens the following day’s finish to an Ardennes classics finale. “Stage five presents a different challenge with a short, steep finish, more reminiscent of the Ardennes than a traditional mountain stage. The last two kilometres feature a very steep kicker, which will change the type of winner compared to Stage four." With seven short punchy categorised climbs, and a final climb which ramps up to 18 percent in its steepest section, a selection could also be made here.&nbsp; &nbsp; Following two intense GC days, Stage 6 should bring the sprinters back into contention. "It’ll be a long stage finishing most likely with a sprint,” according to Vila. “If the wind stays calm, a bunch finish is likely, and van Poppel will be ready to contest it.” &nbsp; As the race progresses into the final weekend, the Alpes-Maritimes mountains set the stage for the resumption of the GC battle, with the final two stages featuring steep climbs and no doubt also fierce competition. "Both of these stages around Nice will be for the GC guys, likely one-on-one fights between the contenders," explains Vila. The penultimate stage serves up 3,700m of elevation, finishing at the ski resort village of Auron. Last year’s penultimate stage was set to finish there, but snowfall forced the rerouting of the course to the Madone d’Utelle, where Aleksandr Vlasov soloed to victory.&nbsp; &nbsp; The race will then reach its conclusion with an almost 120km loop around Nice, culminating with the classic finale used in recent years - the Col des Quatre Chemins - a tough 3.6km long climb averaging almost 9 percent, with sections kicking up to 16 percent.&nbsp; &nbsp; With this demanding parcours in mind, Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe is hoping for a strong GC showing with Florian Lipowitz and Aleksandr Vlasov. This will be Lipowitz’ first major race of the season, while Vlasov takes to the start after competing at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. "Both riders are heading to the race with ambition and a focus on achieving a good result overall. With riders like Vingegaard, Skjelmose, and Almeida, among others, in the field, however, the competition will be fierce,” Vila acknowledges. “Nevertheless, we’re up for the challenge of taking out a strong GC result and, hopefully, also a strong showing Danny van Poppel. So the goal will be a top-five finish in the GC and a stage victory. We’ll fight to be the protagonists of the race. Der Anstieg ist 7 km lang und weist eine durchschnittliche Steigung von 6,5 % auf. „Es ist ein ziemlich langer Anstieg und der erste richtige Härtetest für das Gesamtklassement", sagt Vila. „Mit über 3.000 Höhenmetern wird es ein selektives Finale." Die Zielankunft der folgenden Etappe erinnert laut Vila an ein Ardennen-Klassiker-Finale. „Etappe 5 stellt eine andere Herausforderung dar, mit einem kurzen, steilen Schlussanstieg, der eher an die Ardennen als an eine klassische Bergetappe erinnert. Die letzten zwei Kilometer haben eine sehr steile Rampe, die einen anderen Fahrertyp als auf Etappe 4 begünstigt." Mit sieben kurzen, aber steilen kategorisierten Anstiegen und einem Schlussanstieg, der in seiner steilsten Passage bis zu 18 % erreicht, könnte hier bereits eine Vorentscheidung fallen.&nbsp;Nach zwei intensiven Tagen für das Gesamtklassement dürften auf Etappe 6 wieder die Sprinter zum Zuge kommen.„Es wird eine lange Etappe, die wahrscheinlich in einem Massensprint enden wird", erklärt Vila. „Wenn der Wind ruhig bleibt, wird es voraussichtlich eine Sprintankunft geben, und Danny van Poppel wird bereit sein, um den Sieg zu kämpfen."&nbsp;Am letzten Wochenende geht es in die Berge der Alpes-Maritimes, wo sich die Entscheidung im Gesamtklassement zuspitzen wird. „Diese beiden Etappen rund um Nizza werden den Gesamtklassement-Fahrern gehören, und es wird eine Mann gegen Mann Situation unter den Favoriten geben," erklärt Vila. Die vorletzte Etappe weist 3.700 Höhenmeter auf und endet im Skiort Auron. Im vergangenen Jahr war dieses Finale ebenfalls geplant, musste jedoch wegen Schneefalls verlegt werden. Stattdessen siegte Aleksandr Vlasov nach einer Solofahrt auf der Madone d'Utelle.&nbsp;Das Rennen endet mit einer knapp 120 km langen Schleife rund um Nizza, die mit dem klassischen Finale der letzten Jahre abschließt – dem Col des Quatre Chemins. Dieser anspruchsvolle 3,6 km lange Anstieg hat eine durchschnittliche Steigung von fast 9%, mit Passagen, die bis zu 16% erreichen.&nbsp;Angesichts dieser herausfordernden Strecke hofft Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe auf ein starkes Abschneiden im Gesamtklassement mit Florian Lipowitz und Aleksandr Vlasov. Für Lipowitz ist es das erste große Rennen der Saison, während Vlasov nach seinem Einsatz bei der Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana ins Rennen startet. „Beide Fahrer gehen mit Ambitionen und dem Fokus auf ein gutes Gesamtresultat ins Rennen. Mit Fahrern wie Vingegaard, Skjelmose und Almeida auf der Startliste wird der Wettbewerb jedoch hart", gibt Vila zu. „Dennoch nehmen wir die Herausforderung an, ein starkes Gesamtklassement-Ergebnis zu erzielen und hoffentlich auch mit Danny van Poppel eine starke Leistung zu zeigen. Unser Ziel ist ein Top-5-Ergebnis in der Gesamtwertung und ein Etappensieg. Wir wollen das Rennen mitgestalten.
