The 2025 season is in the books. For Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe, it was a year of ups and downs. There were 23 victories and many top placings, but also dry spells. "The Tour de France is the biggest thing in our sport and it was very good," summarised team CEO Ralph Denk with a view to 3rd place and Florian Lipowitz's white jersey - both firsts for the team. "Especially with the Tour, we can say: it was a successful season."
We look back on the past season in three parts. The first focusses on the Grand Tours, the second on the major classics. Part three looks at the rest of the racing action in 2025.

The Grand Tours

In the three-week tours, the 18 professionals who competed for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana delivered performances that also satisfied the team boss. "It's a strength of the team that they perform when something is really at stake," said Ralph. Five top 10 finishes in the overall rankings of the Grand Tours in 2025 - no other team was able to place in the top ranks more often. There were also two stage wins.

Vive le Tour

Without question, Florian's third place in France was an outstanding result. Only Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard were better in the most important cycling race in the world. With his success, the former biathlete not only wrote German cycling history. He also created a milestone in the team's history.
In eighth place, Primož Roglič gave the team its second top 10 result in the final standings. He had put his fifth place on the final mountain stage up to the Col de la Loze on the scale to take the hoped-for stage win.

Breaking the 300 mark at the Giro

While July was dominated by the Tour, May was Giro time. Like the entire season, the Tour of Italy was a rollercoaster of emotions.
At the Grande Partenza in Albania, Primož took the maglia rosa after the time trial on stage 2. But just four days later, Jai Hindley was forced to abandon after a mass crash and other riders on the team also suffered injuries. The following day, Primož was able to reclaim the overall lead. But the 9th stage over the gravel roads of Tuscany put an end to Rosa's dream.
Primož had to abandon the Giro on the 16th stage. But a youngster was to step in: Giulio Pellizzari. On the same day, the 21-year-old rode to third place in the day's result at the mountain arrival in San Valentino, working his way into the top 10 of the overall standings. By the end of the tour, the Italian had fought his way up to sixth place in his home country.

And Nico Denz also wanted to prove something. The Giro specialist, who won two stages two years ago, unpacked the crowbar on the 18th stage. First, he catapulted himself into the breakaway group of the day, from which he then broke away as a soloist 18 kilometres before the finish and celebrated an emotional stage victory.

At that moment, Nico didn't realise just how special the victory was for the team's history. But it will be him who will forever go down in the team's annals as the one who clinched the 300th victory for the team, which has been in existence since 2010.

Consistency at the Vuelta

At the Vuelta, the team impressed above all with its consistency. Our two GC riders Jai Hindley and Giulio Pellizzari were almost consistently in the top 10 of the overall standings. A Grand Tour winner and a great Grand Tour talent - Jai and Giulio became a Vuelta duo.
While Jai took two podium finishes and fourth place overall, Giulio finished the Tour of Spain in sixth place, as he had previously done in the Giro. The cherry on the cake was his stage win on the Alto de El Morredero on stage 17.
It was his first victory as a professional. Team boss Ralph also spoke of an "inspiring stage win", which he placed above his performance in the overall standings. "The two sixth places reflect his potential. But a win is a win. And we want to build on that in the future, we want to win more races again."
