Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe has been a regular at the Tour of Norway (2.Pro) since 2021. Last year, Jordi Meeus secured a stage win and another second place. This time, however, someone else will have to step up - a compatriot could be this man.
Maxim Van Gils is making his comeback in Norway after back problems following a crash in the Amstel Gold race thwarted his big goal - the Ardennes.

Maxim Van Gils: "I'm ready for Norway"

"In the first week after Liège-Bastogne-Liège, I was still struggling with my back and therefore did a few endurance rides. A week later they were gone and I was able to start doing intervals in the mountains again. Now I feel good and am ready for Norway," says Maxim.

I feel good and am ready for Norway!
The one or other stage around Stavanager on the Atlantic coast in the southern part of the country certainly suits the hill specialist. That's why DS Shane Archbold makes little secret of the team's goals in Scandinavia. "Maxim is in good form and very motivated to race again. That's why we took a very close look at stage 3."

DS Archbold sees "options for every day"

The second stage also harbours opportunities for strong climbers. "The other two stages will probably be decided in a bunch sprint. But with Tim van Dijke, we are also well equipped for that. So we have options for every day. In addition, the time gaps in this race are usually always quite small. With a stage win, you can also play a good role in the GC," says DS Archbold.

However, the focus is clearly on the stages. "We are concentrating on that. What comes out at the end of the week will be a bonus."
Alongside Maxim Van Gils and Tim van Dijke, Anton Palzer, Emil Herzog, Ryan Mullen and Filip Maciejuk will start for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe in Norway.
