Michiel Mouris has secured the junior individual time trial title at the World Championships in Rwanda. The young Dutchman from the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe U19 team grenke - Auto Eder beat the international competition on the 22.6 kilometre course in Kigali in a time of 29:07 minutes, proving once again that he is one of the greatest talents of his generation. The fact that I have now become world champion is a dream come true - truly incredible.
"It's incredible to win here," said a delighted Mouris immediately after crossing the finish line. He continued: "The course was very difficult. The success of the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe juniors was rounded off by another strong performance: 17-year-old Italian Roberto Capello also showed an outstanding race and finished in an excellent sixth place, just 28 seconds behind the leader.
